hello! wow. it's monday night alr. =.= i'm supposed to start work tml, but apparently no news from my agent.. so hopefully i can start on wed or something. xD
hmmm. ytd was great! went to church with a heavy heart, but left church feeling relieved. =D recently there's been additional problems and all. what pastor melvyn said is really true, sometimes we like to carry the burdens when we cannot manage it. it may be because it makes us feel that the person will wanna be our friend if we do so, or tt we can get the person's approval. so often, we
cannot carry these burdens yet we
try to carry burdens which God is supposed to carry for us.
and a verse in Matthew which i've known so well.. really spoke to me in a fresh way.
Matthew 11:28-3028"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
did you know.. that a yoke is shared by 2 oxens when ploughing the land? the more experienced one has to teach the young oxen how to carry it properly, or it may plough itself to death. the yoke must also fit the oxen perfectly, or it may also die.
God is like the experienced oxen. He knows what to do and teaches us along the way. When we feel that we cannot go on, he will gladly help us carry the load and allow us to rest. Yet so often, we wanna do things our way. We believe that we can survive without God. And that's when the load on us gets heavier and heavier.. because we don't know how to handle the things as well as God does. Ultimately if we continue on like this, we will die from the pressure that we face.
It's our choice. Do we want to handle everything ourselves and tell God "it's ok, I am doing fine", or will you choose to admit that you cannot handle whatever you are going through, be it big or small? God will help you through and he never ever will think that you're weak. Because God has a better opinion of us, than what we have of ourselves. He sees the potential that each of us has. He values and loves each one of you.
